Wood to avoid when sculpting large pieces?
Thursday, March 26th, 2009Jeff asked:
Have you ever sculpted/carved a large piece of furntiure?
I’d like to try sculpting a higback lounge chair with arm supports from a single piece of wood, but I have zero experience with this. Any tips, suggestions, useful links?
I would like to use maple, but not sure if it has the right characteristics. Want to avoid cracking, and any other ill effects over time.

Where can I find the best information for sculpting my body without gaining more mass?
Wednesday, March 25th, 2009Charlie K asked:
I am a 28 year old male, I’m 5′10″ and weigh 230. I would like to lose weight and sculpt my body. I have been able to get into “good” shape before, but I would like to get in “great” shape. A couple years ago I got down to 200 pounds while lifting and running, but I still felt like I was too big. I’m not looking to add mass or strength, which is what I seem to do when working out, I would just like to tone up and lose weight. What’s the best way to obtain this, or where on the web is the best information for this kind of workout? I am specifically looking for the 6-pack and well-formed pecs and arms.

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009jessalex asked:
I’m already pretty skinny so I don’t need to drop any weight, really. But after having a baby five months ago, I have some soft spots I’d like to tighten up.
And I’d like to have some muscle definition, especially abs.
Which of the Turbo Jam videos would be best to achieve this?
3T?

Where can I get a job sculpting for a living?
Sunday, March 15th, 2009Absinthy asked:
I’m a graphic artist in Salem Oregon who has always loved to work with my hands creating sculptured gifts for my friends and family. Everyone says I should be sculpting for a living, or should start up my own business. I would love to work in the sculpting industry, but where do you even look for job listings? I’ve checked out sculptor.org, they rarely have anything for actual job listings.

It seems like a field that is more ghost than substance. Everything leads to resources, but never to actual JOBS.
Any tips anyone can suggest? (and please, no plain resource sites, or organization sites . Found way too many resources, and too few actual job listings)

Saturday, March 14th, 2009How to obtain copyright rights from work by deceased artist?
Friday, March 6th, 2009Woody asked:
Copyright covers an artists work during there life + 70yrs until after they are deceased. If the artist is inbetween living and deceased for more than 70 yrs how does one get copyright permission (especially assuming that family are hard to locate).

Any thoughts on requirements/means to get approval?
