what could I use to sculpt a face onto a wooden mannequin,other than wax?

I’m doing an art project at school, we have to make a dool/creature I’ve decided to get a artist’ mannequin and turn it into a metal head ….I’ve been faced with a dilemma …what could I use other than wax to give my dude a face?

    If you want something thats not real expensive and you could do at home, sculpey clay works well.
